Kara Rodgers
Technical Support Manager

Kara Rodgers believes that technology should be an asset to the user as they are trying to meet their learning goals. She specializes in communicating with individuals wherever they may be in their digital literacy journey. An important goal of Kara’s is to aid students and instructors so they can become more confident with implementing the online learning tools at hand to shape their classrooms and wider communities in new and exciting ways. As part of the Online Learning operations team, she works closely with the Associate Director of Operations to ensure all courseware is running smoothly for instructors and that they are kept informed of all improvements. Once a learning tool is added to a Canvas site, Kara is there to ensure that it keeps working and that anyone with questions is quickly helped.

After graduating from Worcester State University with a BA in history, Kara worked at art and history museums and then put her communication skills to work with English language students in the Philadelphia area. Kara became part of Penn’s English Language Programs Instructional Technology Committee where she helped evaluate the best tools to communicate with students whose English is their second language. Later, she moved on to assist the SAS Online Learning Team during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kara enjoys reading, crafting, and traveling around the United States on her moped.
